    deus ex invisable war sound

I have installed the game and it works fine but I have a couple of problems with the sound.
    1. when talking to someone I have to turn my character sideways to hear them not too much of a problem but annoying.
2 when listening to someone to get a goal I get no sound at all just the script and it goes by so fast I can't read it.
    Any ideas?

update your audio drivers... if it is an old game, run it in Windows XP compatibility mode.

I have updated the drivers, running in xp compat. and have updated to v 1.2. Now since I updated to 1.2 it is really screwed up, I can't do anything from the toolbelt like choose a weapon, update a weapon etc.

    Try these things:

    1) enable VSync in your video card options.

    2) Open up the file deusex.ini (it's in the game's system directory) and go to the [Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem] section. Set Latency, which should be 40 by default, to 60. You can also try higher values such as 80 or 100.

    3) Open up the file deusex.ini (it's in the game's system directory) and go to the [Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem] section. Set UseDirectSound to false. This can also be done from the game's advanced preferences (see alternative renderers on how to access these).

    (tips founded on the web)

Is your game an original copy? Is it the Steam version?
