    StarCraft Slow/Somewhat Choppy

    System Specs:

    ECS GF8200A v 1.0
    AMD Athlon 7750 Dual-Core Processor @ 2.7 Ghz
nVidia GeForce 9500 GT 1 gb PCIe x16
    4 gb RAM DDR2
1 TB Hitachi SATA II Hard Drive

*Note, this is not about the colors, I have found my own fix for it

As we all know, StarCraft is back from 1998. Back in the day. Well, StarCraft has always ran good in XP, especially for me. I could do the normal 'APM increase' thing where I spam hotkeys, spam my mouse around, all to warm up my wrist and to keep my APM at a decent rate, usually between 120 and 200. You know, like koreans do and all of that.

In Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit RTM, I can't do that as well anymore. I actually notice that the smoothness of the game chops up when I'm playing really fast (I'm playing online, I need to be fast). There is also the occasional mouse chops here and there. When I have more than 6 buildings that I need to build something from, and I need to be quick about it, I notice the slow down, in terms of the clicks and timing.

It's been bugging me for a while now, because I can't play as well as I normally should. My laptop that runs windows XP SP3 with a 1.3 ghz processor and 512 mb of ram, 32 mb video memory runs starcraft SMOOTHER than my main computer. And that's ludicrous.

    Things to note:
-WarCraft III TFT runs smooth at full highest settings. (No compatibility workarounds)
-Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 run great at highest settings with no problems in slow downs. Unreal Tournament 3 plays great at High settings, no chop ups or slow downs.
    -All drivers are up-to-date
-Avast virus scan is the ONLY thing that runs in the background on my computer. No IM's, nothing.

Things that I've tried to fix the issue:
-Compatibility with disabling visual themes/desktop composition
    -Ran as administrator
-Killed explorer task and then started to play
    -Kept windows classic theme
    -Disabling services
-Closed the virus scan resident (Avast! Home)

Everything I've tried never gave me good results. It was like nothing changed. Any suggestions would be appreciated, because I can't seem to solve this issue, and I really, really do not want to reinstall XP all over again. What do you all think I can do?

I tried turning compatibility off for XP, and left everything else that I normally use on. Still no go.

    Anyone?
