game activations

I have been using Win 7 for 6 months and everything has been more or less rock solid for me and I am ready to purchase the release when it comes out. My question is whether or not I should be able to re- activate all my games because I will have a new operating system. I know some games have more than 1 activation but I am not so sure about Games for windows activations. I am not sure if activations are only checking motherboard numbers. Can anyone help?

May I ask what games you are talking about?
If they are threw steam or EA linker you should be fine.

Section 8, Majesty 2, Two worlds, Fallout, Spore just to name a few
Almost all games now days feature activation on install. I know Steam is fine. I am anticipating Dragon Age, Risen and Borderlands and I don't want to have to buy them twice because of a message that game has already been activated

I know Spore has a tool to install on a new system. As for the others if you install them and it gives you an error I would call the company to get it to work without having to buy a new copy.

I would agree with DarkXeno, except I would suggest that the contact with the game developers should be done before you install Windows 7

Why? so EA can tell you they don't officially support Windows 7? lol
Just call Customer Service for whichever game company if it won't install and activate.

The reason I suggest that the research as what will work and or activate in Windows 7 is done before you install is that if a significant proportion of the games involved will not work you can follow the dual boot route which will mean that you will be still able to play all of your games after the install
