    sim prob

Ya I am having the exact same problem you are. and the hard part is it happens all over the place. Some times it will happen as soon as I log in sometimes I can raid half the night before anything happens. and when it happens it sometimes happens once then not again for an hour other times it happens like 10 times in a row.

Also the video and sound are fine. I can run everything maxed out and it looks great. until the screen goes black. One thing I have noticed is it maxes out all 4 cores of the processor when it happens.

i have tried to shut everything down except wow still does it. I tried changing the back ground thinking it could be that no good. the last time it locked up and gave me the back screen it removed my background all together I have a black desktop now. still did not fix the problem....

I am afraid to do anything like join in on raids and what not due to this problem the last thing I want is to be in the middle of a big boss fight and find my video f*ing up on me..

Interesting to say the least. This problem is usually attributed to 2 programs: AVG updates from 8.* to 9.0 and Skype. If you're running skype, make sure it's not set to start on 'startup'.

the minimizing issue is another program minimizing wow in order to 'tell you something'.... even if you don't see the 'notification'. If you're using windows 7, some of the sys tray notifications can do this as well. You may want to 'customize' your sys tray notifications... Other than that option, I would check your msconfig to see what else is running. You can narrow down the issue by disabling your startups and seeing if it continues to minimize.

off topic but relevant: avg > avast imo
