Call Of Duty 2 hassles
Right, so I wanted to install COD2. Not wanting to schlepp the disc around with me I created an .iso image and mounted it with PowerISO. The faux DVD drive appears in My Computer as G:COD2. No problems there. However if I double click the G: icon to install the game all that happens is a "library not registered" error pops up. If I right click the icon, open the folder and double click the setup.exe file it installs the game but shows a "this program has encountered an error and needs to close" message right at the end. The start menu has an incomplete COD2 folder and the game refuses to run (it showed an error, something about not finding a .exe file, can't remember exactly).
So I uninstall what I can, clean what mess may be left and reinstall but this time staright from the DVD thinking it must be some incompatibility with PowerISO. Not so as exactly the same errors messages pop up.
My software is legit before anyone asks and I don't have this problem with other software ie: COD2 loads neither via PowerISO or the conventional DVD-ROM method. Has anyone else encountered the too. How was it remedied? I did a quick google but found nothing that specifically addressed my problem.
