You are lucky you didn't buy Vegas 2 or GT4... CoD 4 is not that hard on hardware but still.

Also, make sure you have updated your video drivers to the latest version you can. Make sure you uninstall the drivers you have now before you attempt a new installation.

    Defrag your hard disk

Make you nothing non-vital is running in the background while you are playing... msn messenger, MS Office, Adobe crap, HP Printer bloated software, etc, etc,

Check your StartUp and leave only what's needed.

You can run hijackthis and anything listed under 04 are startup items, you can check the ones you want, and then fix and they will be shut down. However once you restart some if not all will reappear. |MG| HijackThis 1.99.1 Download You can also return any that didn't on their own by checking the items in the saved file and restore them.

Ok yes you do have a poor graphics card, but it should still do alright... a bit choppy but not to the extent you are saying.

If the above solutions do not have an effect i would like ask how old is your machine? and when did you last clean the fan and heatsink? Low gaming performance often occurs when your cpu isn't getting enough cooling, you would be suprised how much of a difference a 10 minute clean can make.

In my experience most boosters dont make that much difference, if any.

How has the defrag and spring cleaning gone? has it made a difference?
