I finished Dead Space 3 but the games thinks otherwise

I just plated Dead Space 3 to the very end, even let the credits run and got the "Ellie, Ellie..." audio bit at the end. I then turned the game off, installed an SSD for a boot disk and went back into the game to see if it would load faster. The saved slot said I only finished 78% of the game. I'm kinda pissed off because that those last chapters were very difficult (and I cheated big time too).

I'm not all that anxious to get back into that game again but I was wondering if anyone knows why this happened.

I hate it when that happens... I can't remember which game did that to me and I had to let the credits run until it sent me back to the main menu all on its own, otherwise, it would tell me that I needed to finish the last part over and over again.

If you already did that and the game sent you to the main menu then I don't know what else to tell you but if you don't plan on playing it again, I guess that it will be one of those Unsolved Mysteries

It is possible you lost one or more of your saves or some of them got corrupted during transfer. It happens

BTW the default save location for Dead Space 3 is C:\Users\YourName\Documents\EA Games\Dead Space 3

Did you play through the Co-op missions? They count towards 100% completion.

He's indicating he lost some saves, not necessarily 100 completion of all achievements....

    But, I could be wrong

Anyway it is possible to get 100% in the game without doing multi-player, you just have to make sure you do all the optional missions. I got 89% because I missed a couple of them.

The spec said I missed an artifact. Is that why it says I didn't finish? At that point in the game I began to pick up every possible object. Because I used a "Trainer" I didn't pick up everything.
