    Playing Neverwinter Online

After seeing a few members posting some screen shots of Neverwinter i decided to give it a try as was looking for a new MMORPG to play with a mate.

After playing for 6 hours straight, I guess i could say we were hooked, absolutely awesome. I love the simpleness of the controls yet how effectiveley they could be used for combos.

Anyway, we're now stuck and I was wondeing if someone could help.

We completed all the missions for SGT Knox and most of the Side Missions while going round we got to around level 18/19. and there was no more quests to do anywhere. After looking around we found the foundry missions and have done them till now and we're both level 21/22.

Now the plan was that we thought if we levelled up we would unlock another quest to continue the story. But nothing yet. Is this the same with anyone else who have played Neverwinter?

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

This game is the first time I've played an MMO and I like that you can solo. I'm not reliable enough to party up with anyone regularly. I keep odd hours and I'm not available to play regularly at any specific time.

I've been playing D&D video games since the eighties, so it was partially behind what got me into playing this when I've pretty much ignored all other MMO games. It's been cool to run around Neverwinter again after so long. Plus it was free to play, excellent, party, bonus.

Honestly though, the big motivation behind me playing it is to gear up and get used to MMO type gameplay before ESO comes out. I've been playing Elder Scrolls games since Arena back in the very early nineties. Plus you can apparently solo in that game as well.

There is some stuff you have to party up for though. As I understand it, none of it is mandatory. I will sooner or later, but as I said, I'm not really reliable enough to be in a Guild or part of a regular group. The game will pair you up to fill holes in other parties though, which is also cool.

You're further along than I am, I play in short spurts for an hour or two and go on to something else for a bit. I'm lvl 16 at the moment and playing as a Rogue. I'm usually a thief/stealth type character on my first play through of an RPG where it's an option. I'm good at that stealth action games like Thief, Splinter Cell, Dishonored, and MGS. I'm also kind of backlogged with other games and I've recently modded Skyrim into the realm of stupid awesome.

I dunno what to suggest other than to guess that maybe you need to be in a specific area and do a specific quest to get more quests to open up? A lot of RPGs do that sort of thing. You may have finished off everything you can do until you get past a certain story point or do a specific quest or go to a specific area to do more.

Might be a glitch too. I'm not sure. Have you checked to see if you've opened up a new area somewhere on the map? As I understand it the game is supposed to eventually cover the entire Sword Coast region. Neverwinter is and the current area shown is just a small portion of it. I don't think that's going to happen at launch, but over time as more content is added I think it's supposed to spread further and further out into the Sword Coast region.

Of course, you should realize that the game is still in Beta as well. You may have finished all the available content. The Beta ends on June 20th, and there's a bunch of stuff going on from the 18th until then. So starting tomorrow you'll have the 'Invasion' stuff to keep you busy. I'm sure the map will expand over time as well. I've heard Baldur's Gate will be one of the places you can visit eventually. It should be a ways south of Neverwinter along the coast.

There will likely be at least a little more content available once the game is launched, plus add ons later over time as well.

It is fun though and It'll keep me busy at least until ESO is launched I think. It's not quite an 'action' game even though it is similar to one in a lot of ways. I'm having fun with it and I don't see any reason why I won't keep playing it for a while at least.

Good luck figuring it out, but I'm thinking you might have hit some kind of cap in the Beta or something, or you're just not looking in the right area to find what you need to in order to continue.

You must have missed something somewhere, as I got to level 60 a week or so ago just going through quests/missions. Was there an area that you didn't fully explore? A quest might have been glitched and you abandoned it and perhaps forgot about it? I'd go back to all of the areas where you have done quests and look at the map.....if you completed all the quests that you can(solo), the map should be pretty much fleshed out.

    @ Contrabardus and kbrady -

Thanks for your replies did what you said and eventually found that after levelling to 21 sgt Knox sent me to a new area and have managed to continue now.

Now I am now adventuring through the graveyard area, just got to level 27. Really enjoying the game. Playing a slightly different role than I normally do. This time I'm adventuring through as a cleric. Whereas normally I would rock a damage or health tank, however the change is good and am loving the response from the people I heal randomly as I run through :)

Kbrady gratz on level 60. You gonna have a go at the new crypt for level 60's ?

    Regards toby

Apologies for any mistakes currently at work and on my phone

There is still an area or two I need to go to, but I am up for just about anything! It's been quite a bit of fun so far. Glad you figured out what you needed to do.
