Old Steam games thought I'd uninstalled hogging my HD!

I was tidying up my HD recently and I noticed there appears to be several 10's of GB of old games and demos I thought I had uninstalled, through Steam client probably...

Can't find them in the uninstall wizard through control panel and they aren't showing up in Steam either.

Someone on Steam suggested I just delete the folders. Can I do that and be sure everything is safely removed from my HD?

They are in programfiles(x86) > Steam > SteamApps

Yes you can delete the folders. If you do decide to play them again you will have to download them again.

I just moved my entire Steam installation from the SSD to my HDD
saved 93Gigs of space, which was nice..!!

Easiest way is to move the Steamapps file over first - then completely uninstall Steam..
after a restart, you re-install Steam on the new drive and merge the Steamapps file back
into the main Steam file (in Program Files (x86) - then follow the instructions from
Steam when you want to restart..

93Gigs is a really big file - we forget this when we download new games into Steam
    - it grows like topsy..
