Non-BSOD, Lock up when running any DirectX game

Hi guys, so I just got a new motherboard because my old one stopped working, along with a new power supply. Now whenever I run a DirectX game my computer locks up and has to have the motherboard forced off.

Here's what I've done to try and see what is wrong.
  1. Repair windows install for new board, and try to get it to work
  2. Roll back drivers for my 670 to an older version
  3. Clean installed Windows 7
I've tried everything I know of to fix it but it continues to lock up regardless of the game, haven't tried an OpenGL game yet though. I don't even get a dump record because it locks up.

Anyone have a clue what to do? I'm tempted to just take the board back for a new one.
