Save your game saves and try a re-install of the game. Add your system specs

Well, it's not a hardware problem unless something is broken. You're well over the recommended specs for the game.

I'm guessing there's no error message involved.

If you don't have Steam installed, you need it to run Hitman. Make sure the Steam client is on and then try running the game if you haven't already. Steam often starts automatically when you click on a game exe that uses it, but some games require you to open the Steam client first or they won't even load. It's a bit weird that way.

If that doesn't work try going into properties by right clicking on the games exe file and go to the compatibility tab and check 'run as administrator'. I've heard that Hitman Absolution likes to have administrator privileges and sometimes won't run without them.

It could be something as simple as running the game in windowed mode. Sometimes I've got to start a game in windowed mode the first time I boot it up because the default is a resolution my screen/GPU doesn't like. Once I'm in the windowed mode I can adjust the graphics settings to a more friendly resolution and return to fullscreen. Usually I get a black screen when this happens, but there have been one or two games that behaved like you're describing because of it.

I have always being lucky I guess because I have never needed to start my games in windowed mode, then again, when I run into problems like this I always try to install fresh or newer versions of both my audio and video drivers... almost always this seems to work well.

Glad you got yours working well even if thru windowed mode.

Sometimes it's the simple solutions that elude us. Glad it's working as well.

I don't recall ever having to stay in Windowed mode to play something when this has happened to me. Most games that don't have a detect hardware feature start in the lowest possible resolution setting when you boot them up the first time and sometimes it's one that's just not compatible with a card. Mine doesn't like 640 x 480 at all and won't display it. There are a couple of common resolutions between that and 1920 x 1080 it doesn't like as well, but I don't recall what they are exactly offhand.

Like I said, it's just that the default resolution is something either my GPU or Screen doesn't like. Once I can get to the game menus I can change it to something that works for my GPU or Screen and it runs fine in Fullscreen mode after that.

I've tried all this, but still nothing. I never had Steam so I had to download it, so are there certain settings within Steam that have to be adjusted of which I don't know they exist? Messing with the window mode and resolutions just gave me a black screen and then nothing. I'm no technician so my hope isinvisted in you!
