Games detecting Intel HD instead of Dedicated Graphics Card

I am using a program called Nvidia Inspector to fix this issue with games such as Tomb Raider. But GTA 4 is giving me a hard time.I have tried everything, even Nvidia Inspector does not help in detecting Nvidia Graphics Card.I have an Acer Laptop with Optimus technology which seems to be the cause of this.I welcome any fix or solution.I can even try overclocking. I just want to run GTA 4 on my laptop.

Hi fahadhum, It might sound stupid. But, I read something about this sometime ago and the solution was to use power adapter while playing the game. While selecting the card it will give you the option to select the dedicated GPU.

Yes, you can try to use high performance. We would like to provide max power if are using dedicated card and if you want to play GTA4. This game requires a lot of GPU power.

Just out of interest, how do you know the iGPU isn't switching to the dGPU when you're playing GTA? I've never really used a laptop so I don't know how you know it's not switched over for that game but does for others. Is it just bad performance in that game?
