I've payed a few rounds so far today and it's much improved over BF3 and is the game BF3 should have been. All the menu's and spawn system are massively improved and more like a modern BFBC2 setup. The sound is also really good and the RPG's sound wicked

You will need to update to the Beta driver that was released for BF4 GeForce 331.40 Beta Driver Released | GeForce
Everyone i know running an Nvidia card found it unplayable with any previous driver, For me it was like extreme lag and dropped to what seemed like 1-2 fps often aswell as just freezing up. I lowered some settings at first which helped a bit bt not much. All the lag effect went after updating my gpu drivers but all the dust and smoke flickered.

It's looking very promising so far folk's

Edit: If you have a second monitor then you can have a live map like the spawn screen on it which is pretty cool. In Battlelog when you click to join a server and the blue banner along the bottom of your screen show's click the Battlescreen icon in the bottom right. I haven't tested the performance hit on it yet if there is any.

I joined a quick match and love it. Don't have time to configure my settings yet, will do it tonight. It defaulted to mostly high and ultra and seemed fine. Will see after configuring my loadout and button config. Man, I wish I didn't have to go to work

I'll give it a try tonight, although I'll go with my existing drivers first on the off chance they're OK, I've never been big on beta drivers.

After hearing a few more experiences with the latest WHQL drivers (including 5 fps on a 780 SLi setup) I'm installing 331.40 now. I'll try the beta when the kids have gone to bed.

Noob questions so please, do not make go put in my flame retardant suit...

I thought most of these games were coming out now in October so aren't this beta a bit to late? or is BF4 no in the least of games coming out in Oct. Again, I am not much into it so I haven't bother googling all this.

October 29th is the official release date so it is a short beta period. But I suppose DICE have done the majority of testing in-house and this three weeks or so with us guinea pigs will be just ironing out the final creases.

    You're welcome mate. :)

I suppose a lot of it will be working on the Battlelog interface and giving feedback to the red and green teams for driver optimisation.

Just had a few rounds on Domination, 331.40 beta drivers and virtually everything set to Ultra and it ran fine. It doesn't look as good as BF3 to me and it's faster and smoother. Kills seem easier to bag from distance (with an assault rifle anyway) which can be a good and a bad thing I think, but overall it seems 'easier' than BF3. I suppose it'll take some getting used to but I think I'm back off to Scrap Metal for a bit.
