How can I find the 'event name' of a key press?

    Hello!

I was wondering how I could find what name is given to each key when I press down. eg. kp_num9 is the name of Numberpad 9 key.

I'm asking this because I want to find out what 'name' is given to the macro keys on my keyboard.
btw. My keyboard is the Steelseries Apex.

I look forward to your responses. :)

There are no keynames for Macro keys.

Macro keys emulate other keys or a combination of other keys. You program them and they provide the same input as whatever you programmed them for. For example, if you program a Macro with Alt + Shift, then it's the same exact input as pressing Alt + Shift on your qwerty keys, if you program it to emulate F4, then it's the same as pressing F4, etc.

They don't have separate keynames. They are simply meant to be hotkeys for multiple key presses or to move keys to a more convenient spot and are not new inputs. Either way, there are no keymaps for those keys because your OS doesn't see them as new inputs, but as emulated input from the standard qwerty keymap.

What are you trying to do? If you want to program a game or other program you may be able to edit a config or ini file within the program so you can set the macro keys up to do what you want using multiple key inputs instead.

For example, rather than Macro_1 [which doesn't exist] you might be able to map a function to U+A or Shift+B and program the macro to U+A or Shift+B instead to get the same effect as what it seems like you want to do with the Macros.
