I may stop by my friend's house tomorrow and I will see what happens then. Being that he learn from me, he uses the mouse/KB combo the same way I do. I have set the zoom on my/his G9 to the #5 mouse button or the P in the keyboard (if you hit the mouse wheel to the left once, you zoom in, one more click you zoom out).

I walk with the RMB and I shoot with the LMB, I also Melee with the side mouse button, I reload with the #7 mouse button, A and D are my side movements on the KB... I am a very fast Pistolero this way!

Anyways, that is how he has set his keys as well so I don't believe he clicked on the Q to set the Binocs, assuming the P or #5 MB was the one he need to click on.
