Steam install problem MW 3

I bought the retail version of Modern Warfare 3 brand new.

I tried to install it on Steam. It accepted the key code, but then it got to the part " Creating game cache files.." and it stuck! Has been like that for 10 hours, and will not move.

Have sent a request to Steam Support, but have not heard back from them.

Anyone else had this type of problem? Any suggestions most welcome.

Hi Welcome to Sevenforums.

Delete all the files associated with this game in the steamapps/downloading folder. Also, delete local content (which didn't delete the copied files - worth making sure you have backed them up anyway). Restart steam.
Click on install game again, it will come up with a box which, after a few clicks of the next button, start to detect the copied game files. Job done.

I would say the best thing to do Is contact Steam support on there call line !
They are your best bet, it could be a problem with the CD key or steam not recognising the game as activated.
