Nice one, Paul. That's quite an improvement.
I started my vacation from work a day early, woke up with a fever of 102.4F, at the moment it's 101F.
As soon as I get over whatever this is, I'll put in some laptimes.
I just purchased this for myself =) fancied a new race sim for a while.
now just have to save a few beer pounds and get myself a logitech g27!!
well my logitech g27 turned up this morning annnnnnnnd... im worse at it now im .100 of a second off my fastest time on silverstone in an formula arbarth!!
My one complaint with the wheel well.. the gear box, is that it feels in natural, im often finding myself putting it into the wrong gear. im sure ill get used to it though.
You will.
I've found that using 20% stability control now makes the cars feel more natural. getting the tail out isn't an automatic spin. Besides half the cars use electronic assists in the real world, so it doesn't feel like cheating :)
I'm really starting to hate the Pagani Hyura. Poor brakes and almost impossible to tune, never mind getting a good lap time. Some cars are great at default while others are pretty poor.
The AI improvement from 0.8 has made them a lot more fun to race against too. While I never win, racing them on hard helps "train" you on where you are losing time on the track.
I've also decided to get the TrackIr 5 for extra immersion. It's a subtle effect but really does add a lot to the game. It's one thing I miss from kinect/forza 4. An Oculous Rift would be more awesome, but I'm waiting for the consumer version and there's no firm eta on that yet. While all these little things may not make me a better driver, it does make being mediocre more fun
I have been forced to give up on this game for now. I was really enjoying it, but a couple of updates back they have done something to people using Xbox controllers. I have no idea what they did to it but I simply cannot drive any car without spinning off the track at pretty much every corner.
I have spent a few hours trying all kinds of settings over the last month. I just cannot get it to run like it did before. I have searched the forums, I have tried other peoples settings but the problem remains.
It is really frustrating, it would actually be impossible for me to complete a lap without coming off the track now unless I drove round at like 10MPH and even then I might still spin.
when I first got the game I found the 360 controller really hard to drive with on low speed corners. then they updated this about 2 patches ago and it addressed the issue for me and it made me as much as 10 seconds a lap quicker!
but ive seen people on steam saying the same as you! which is a shame as if they dont address it soon theyll loose player.
you not a fan of wheels??
