Asus G750 series vs Alienware

So I want to know which is better in your professional gamer opinion. So basically I want to know with the 1,749 or 2,239 dollars could I get a alienware laptop with better specs? I don't know if this is a proper section to put this so if I did please tell me!

And -don't- get Windows 8. The OS is being abandoned and Windows 9 is currently being prepped for release and will likely be out sometime this year. Windows 8/8.1 being replaced for being as crappy as it is just like Vista was. Get Windows 7 for a new build. Windows 8 is on it's last leg so don't let some sales rep sell it to you. You want Windows 7 for a gaming computer.

I don't recommend holding out for Windows 9 to be released either. No official date has been announced and you'll probably want to wait until it's been out for a bit anyway just to make sure it's an improvement and so MS can iron out all the launch bugs.

It is faster, but it also as compatibility issues with a lot of games. This is a list of games I own that would not run when I had it installed: Dark Souls, GTA IV, GTA : Episodes from Liberty City, S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat, From Dust, Dead Rising 2, Darksiders 1 + 2, The Darkness II, Counter Strike:Source, Borderlands 2. There might be more, but it was around that point that I got sick of it and dumped the OS.

Needless to say, I have reinstalled Windows 7 at least until Windows 9 drops. I had to do the same thing when Vista was released because of it's problems and rolled back to XP until 7 was released and stable. Both times simply rolling back my OS fixed the issues without the need for any additional tweaks or patches.

Some games run, but features like controller support do not. Dishonored would run, but the Xbox 360 controller would not work. Windows 8 is more prone to bugs and glitches, many of them potentially game breaking. It's not as stable as a game platform as Windows 7.

Windows 8 may be faster and even do a lot of things better than Windows 7, unfortunately playing games is not one of those things. For a computer that has a primary function of gaming Windows 7 is still the optimal OS.

Yup. Seeing as OP is making a gaming build, I thought the information might prove useful.

Windows 8.1 isn't as bad as Windows 8 was according to what I've heard from people who run it and game, but it's still not the best OS for a gaming centric rig. It's just not stable running games for some reason and sometimes creates all sorts of headaches even when it does run them.

It's not the absolute worst choice. Most games will run fine on it, but there are enough issues that someone building a gaming rig should be wary of it and probably just stick with Windows 7 for now.

Regarding Windows 7 or 8.1 - I am not really a fan of Windows 8.1 but it is faster than 7. Take that into consideration.

As for the PC - I would buy what's cheapest, always do.

Yea, Asus is very good but I like alienware for it's design and the back light keyboard , touch pad and I like how the fan has lights to and you can change the color for everything, If I could get that on the Asus i'd totally buy it but I'm still deciding which to get.

Before spending that kind of $$$$ I would google customer service/ support for both brands, more so because from personal experience... I would rather quit using computers alltoghether than give Alienware a penny of my money
