Can't run games because of black / blurry screen.

Posting this for a friend of mine:

When I try to play high end / low end games, my screen is like all blurry, sometimes it even turns totally black.

I have tried restoring my laptop to factory settings, it didn't help, still same problem as before. What should I do?

    PS: Tenacious D Rocks!

From the extreme little information we get from your post, all I can speculate is that your audio and video drivers are old and you need to update them. If your laptop does not have an automatic update system (no, I don't mean windows update), you must visit the manufacturers website for your audio and video drivers (going to Device Manager can tell you this if you don't know it), download the latest version of the drivers, uninstall the ones you have now, restart, let win7 install generic drivers and then install the ones you just downloaded... this may help

Are the drivers updated to the latest as AstaLaVista asked?
What are his temps for his CPU and GPU? You can check by downloading Speccy from here Speccy - Download Click on one of the links in the FREE section and download and report back.

Could also be the GPU on its way out but further tests should be done to determine the fault.
