    Hi there,
I really appreciate everything that you were doing so far, however, I still have those incredible nasty lag spikes in all of my games (TF2, L4D2, SF4) even after editing all those vars! My ping says 25-50 in all steam games but still the animations are not correct (delayed, like when having a bad ping)! And the thing with disabling my sound card wasn't able to fix this prob as well. So, what the hell is wrong here?

A good comparison is also the fact, that the TEON server in L2, while vista was my main OS, ALWAYS showed me a ping of 30. But now (W7 installed) it shows me a ping of 59!

    My system
    ASUS P5Q
Realtek ALC1200 @ Intel 82801JB ICH10 - High Definition Audio Controller (Realtek HD Audio Driver)
    Generic Marvell 61xx RAID Controller
    Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller
    Windows 7 x64 Prof
    Intel Q6600
    4GB DDR2
all drivers are up to date and have been downloaded from the original ASUS homepage

I just installed Windows 7 x64 2 days ago and already have some serious probs, this is really pissing me off ...!

If you still have issues after disabling your soundcard this not a thread that will be able to solve your issue. I recommend you create a new thread.

    Problem solved guys!

It was my overclocked CPU which caused those lag spikes (!), although the symptoms for a too overclocked CPU were really strange. Does someone maybe know how I am able to overclock my CPU without getting those lag spikes (since my CPU is not the strongest)?

Well, the first question we should ask ourselves is "Do they know about this problem?".
I think that if they knew and found a way to fix it they would supply people with an update through "windows update" to make everything work right.

So either they don't know about all of this either they have no solution to the problem.
Until the fix comes out I will continue using Win XP x64.

I reported the bug to microsoft and linked them to this thread. Not hoping for much but it surely can't hurt.

    Hope they fix it soon
I reported this bug to MS. They know
No fixes ever worked for me. It suddenly went away and now sometime return. But a reboot fixes it. I don't dare reformating
