    Bad Lag in Games

Hello everyone, thanks for your time.

Since I built my computer two months ago I have been experiencing major lag in certain games no matter the settings (Starcraft II, League of Legends) however other games like Battlefield 4 are seamless on ultra. I haven't touched voltages or overclocked anything, temperatures are fine (around 30-40 Celsius in the games that lag) and malwarebytes came back with nothing infecting my computer.

    Specs:
    Intel i5-4670k CPU
    EVGA 760 GTX 2GB GPU
    750W PSU
    8GB DDR3 RAM

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Games that you mentioned (lag) and your system specs. By this, it is clear that the PC can handle these games easily. Try to find a patch/update for the games from manufacturer's site. Sometimes that does resolve the issue.

    The games are updated.

From where did you get the games? Are they legit copies?

update your audio, chipset, ethernet, and gpu drivers. check your temps for your gpu and cpu, make sure they are running below 80C and r running at their max speeds. once you do that, check event viewer for errors and post them up if there are any errors/warnings. after that, download DPC latency checker and run that program for 5 mins. you should not receive any yellow spikes.

Sorry for the late reply, got stuck at work. All my games are legitimate, purchased from Battle.net, Origin and Steam. I'll be checking chipset/ethernet drivers but I know my GPU/audio drivers are up to date, as well as all games I play. After running the DPC latency checker I saw an average speed of approx 300 microseconds, with an absolute max of 1150 microseconds (I saw only one spike). Again temperatures are low, averaging 34 Celsius in Starcraft II (with 1-3 FPS in heavy fights).

This is completely baffling to me, I have never seen/heard anything like this before.

OK that spike is caused by a driver error. Which means u need to update ALL your drivers. Clean install the GPU ones using driver sweeper. Make sure to boot into safe mode before u use the program. And audio drivers play a HUGE role in performance when gaming so I would strongly suggest updatingvthat too. If u have a WiFi card or sound card, update those too.

After all drivers are updated run DPC again and make sure no spikes. If there are boot into safe mode and run it again. Also check the temps of your GPU and cpu in battles and stress. They should be running below 80c

If your GPU is ringing at 30c under stress it is most likely not scaling its frequency up and only running at the desktop clock speed. Use MSI after burner to monitor or GPUz. Check event log too.

May I request you to please update your system specs. As NooberGoober suggested, did you try to update the drivers?

Get the latest drivers for the card and download DriverSweeper. Uninstall the GPU's driver, run DriverSweeper to clean the left overs of the old driver. Install the latest drivers now. Reboot and then check. Also, as mentioned above monitor the temps with MSI Afterburner.
