    Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2

    Hey all

Im not sure whether or not you can help me. But i cannot get GRAW 2 working on my pc.

    My System specs are

    OS - Windows 7
    CPU - Intel Core2 Quad 9550
    RAM - 2GB
    Motherboard - ASUS P5QC
Video Card - Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 1GB

The menus etc work but as soon as start the mission or training mission. Ive turned all affects down 2 the lowest possible setting.

The picture starts and its very pixalted. I dont seem to be able to get an videos or pictures to show you guys what happens. Ive tried fraps and the old print screen method but cannot get any picture.

Ive updated the GFX drivers to the latest WQHL and also DirectX Mar 09.

Any suggestions would be great:) If you require any other information please let me know.

foxhound, post up my replies as well so others can see what I suggested and what you did.

I forgot to ask... did you updated to the latest patch? what version of game are you running now?

Foxhound, not so much I am going to be able to do here but I will try. I will ask you to post whatever I tell you here in a thread, if you don't already have one opened, because it will help others find a solution.

Don't be afraid to post all questions, the members of these 2 forums (Vistax64.com & sevenforums.com) are extremey nice people.

Only thing I see wrong so far is that you need to have at least 2 more GBs of RAM, aside from that, you have a very good CPU, Video card & Mobo.

Now, what kind of PSU (power supply unit), Sound Card & Monitor do you have? I need to know what Brand, Model & Wattage capability before we continue.

I also need to know how did you install the drivers, whether you are PC savvy or not, this will help me to explain things. Don't worry, I am not a guru but I have been here so many times that it is like 2nd nature to me now :)

Sorry if you hope it was going to be easy or fast.

    Hope Foxhound has the issue resolved by now, but my 2-cents;
I am not sure if this will help because I run an ATI card, and don't use the PhysX.
I install all games to c:\Games\... - you shouldn't have to tune down any settings, even if you let the game auto detect. But what would happen if you did a fresh install and disabled the PhysX drivers?

Something tells me (by looking at the bottom link) that you are trying to install a totally different patch, perhaps for GRAW and not GRAW2? seeing as to how Graw 2 only got 5 patches.

    http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=2265

Ubisoft has drop the ball immensely so I usually download the patch and install it manually since everytime I let the auto update do its thing, I end up with a busted game or worse... a busted PC.

My suggestion? Uninstall the game, go to safe mode, use Ccleaner to get rid of any Registry instances of the game, restart again and install a fresh copy of Graw.

Don't forget to install the PhysX and the DirectX if the game asks you for it.

Yeah, I can install the patch 1.00 to 1.05 ok, no problems. I thought the 1.06, 1.3, 1.4, & 1.5 patches were also for graw2, are they for the original ghost recon?

I think I have it working, played online for about 3 hours last night. Followed your directions Asta up to using Ccleaner. I have tune-up utilities 2010 installed so ran that to clean the registry and as they say wallah, it works pretty smoothly now. I'll be glad when Future Soldier comes out, and I hope it is as good as Graw. I've had a lot of fun playing the sp campaign, now for the real fun. This is the only game I've played where everyones not running around bunnie hopping to keep from getting shot, and instead are actually using some stealth, and a semblance of tactics.
