When I start the game there is starting picture and after few seconds it shows error that the program is not responding. I tried everything i found here and it stil doesnt work.

I want to ask what files should be in C:Users/(name)/AppData/Roaming/My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files ?

I have there only empty file Maps and Options.ini that i have created. Should be there anything else ?

    Thank for reply.

BFME 2 - Where are the maps?

I have a different problem. I got BFME, BFME 2 and Witch King working on my two desktops, one with W7 Pro and one with Home Edition. I had more trouble with the one with Home edition and had to create the options.ini file for each game. I installed the originals from disc then upgraded with latest patches before trying to run. I even specified XP mode with the shortcut though I'm not sure that was even necessary after installing the options.ini file. With the homegroup activated, I could do multi-player on the LAN. My problem is that I can't seem to see where the maps are located.

I had downloaded some player created maps for my xp desktop and can't get the game under windows 7 to see any of them. I installed them in the x86 folder under the user, app data, BFME, roaming which is what made them show up in the original (I think). When they didn't work I looked in the game folder and I can't even find the maps directory. I created a maps folder in my games files and placed some of them there and I still can't run them. I searched my Win 7 computers for the .tga files for the regular game maps and it doesn't even show up, yet when I run the game the regular maps are available to choose for either a skirmish or for multi-player on the LAN. So has Windows 7 somehow changed the map files for compatibility mode or is there some other hidden files other than the ones I activated to install the games. I really love these games and guess I should be glad I could get it to work at all. I would appreciate any advice.

    Hi Guys,

I have a limited edition BOFM + normal copy of ROTWK. I used to play it very frequently on my previous computer. But after i have upgraded to a new Lenovo computer (all the specs exceed requirements), i cannot play it at all. Whenever i click the "Play" button at the startup menu, this error message appears:

"Please insert the corret DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application"

I have tried contacting EA Technical Support but they only said, get a new copy! WTF!~
There's no copy left of this game anywhere... = (

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
    Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.66GHz
    RAM 4 GB
    NVIDIA GeForce 320

    Anyone able to help, please?
    Thanks a million!

For any of you that have trouble finding the Appdata Roaming folder just search on your computer %AppData% and youll see roaming.

    Got this info from Maguscreed

But I also need some help. I can't seem to get it to work. In the middle of loading, the game just stops responding.... But when I put it on Compatibility mode for Windows XP, it says I have the wrong CD.
