Train Simulator 2013 - Not for everyone, maybe

Been happily playing Train Simulator 2013 without any hiccups on my Windows 7 64 bit machine.

I use 1920x1080P with 8xAA and all settings maxed. My video card is a MSI GTX660 OC Twin Frozr which has been further overclocked to 1202Mhz Core (Boost) and 6610Mhz on the Memory side.

The card is brilliant, runs quiet and peak temperatures so far have been 54C.

This game is awesome for anyone interested in Trains, it takes on the mantle of the much purchased Microsoft Train Simulator which has of course been finished off.

The graphics and the gameplay are much more intuitive than previous versions and the XBOX 360 controller is also now supported, which makes things much better. Custom edited missions that sorts out its own AI trains is another great feature, it takes some getting used to how to do it, but becomes easy after a few tries using the Timetable view to programme the AI. A great selection of locos, rolling stock, routes and units are available and even the buildings can be moved around in the editor. Quite complex scenarios can be created involving shunting practice.

The game runs smoothly and without glitch, frame rates are good and transition of frames relatively seamless. As I say maybe not a game for everyone, but a much improved over all version of this well supported game.

I play it from time to time. Unfortunately, the DLC is far too expensive and there is next to no rolling stock or passenger cars for the trains and liveries they showcase in DLC. I don't like to have American trains with European rolling stock/coaches and viceversa. It just looks way off.

I have the 2014 version though, since I bought it off steam, whenever the new version comes it, it gets updated to it for free... still waiting for narrow gauge content though.. I miss that from Auran's Trainz
