How does this one compares to KoTOR? Not much of an RPG guy but I did play Kotor I & II and loved it.

Seeing as FPS Tactical shooters have gone the way of the Dodo Bird, I may take on an RPG game again... more so if the game is from Star Wars.

What does 'Persistent' Online means? I am not liking that word...

The Old Republic will be an MMORPG (like WoW). You'll have to pay monthly for it.

I got in to early access on the 13th as I pre-ordered early August. I played a couple of weekend betas, and I love it. I used to play Star Wars Galaxies until that closed down on Thursday, and while both MMOs are two completely different types, TOR certainly is a great game to continue on to.

I'm just overwhelmed by the sheer size of the game. So much thought and detail has gone in to it. Each voice acted scene is amazing and worth sitting through. I'm playing Jedi Knight at the moment, and right from the get go the story is so enjoyable.

I can see myself playing it for quite a long time. Each class has it's own unique story, which I think is great. Doing missions with groups is great as well where the whole group joins in on the mission dialogues.

I have four weeks off from Uni to play it, and my girlfriend is in London at home for Christmas holidays, so got all the spare time on my hands. I've got Skyrim to play as well, but I have the urge to play TOR more than that at the moment. It's certainly going to be huge when it's properly released, if not already. Servers are usually always full, and EA/Bioware have just been opening up new servers each day since early access started. I think it's safe to say it's the only MMO that will take over WoW.

If you loved KOTOR, you'll love TOR. It's just how KOTOR is, but an online version. I loved KOTOR I and II myself, and I'm loving this.

I don't think I left my house over the weekend. 36 straight hours rolling up a Jedi Sage, my brother rolled a Jedi Guardian. So far our stories have been remarkably different. I have to agree with Everlong. This is the first true mmo RPG that i've played, and it truly is an RPG, the mmo aspect of it is just a bonus.

I also took some time off to play an Imperial Agent, went sniper...So much fun!
"Dodge, duck, dip, dive and DODGE!" There is something supremely satisfying about rolling 10 feet, to come up crouched around a corner, ambushing an elite mob, and watching the normal mobs scatter

As a WoW player, I have to say, SWTOR is refreshing. I truly hope the lot of WoW players on these forums gives it a shot. I'm not saying the game does not have flaws..(Graphics bugs, special currency bugs) but it is remarkably polished compared to the other MMO's I have tried recently.

Now to wait for midnight, so I can go pick up my collectors edition box !

Well server's just went down to prepare for the release. Got a lvl 22 Jedi Guardian dps at the moment. Just finished missions on Taris (most annoying place ever), and ready to head to Nar Shaddaa. I did a few of the Flashpoint missions with my friends. The Athiss(sp?) is pretty fun. Tough, but real fun. Get some nice Jedi gear from there.

    How awesome is Huttball?

Got a chance to play some PVP last night. How amazing is Huttball? Its a hybrid of capture the flag and some sort of sadistic arena match. So much fun!

I've not tried PVP yet. I've been enjoying the Jedi Knight story arc too much and adding more Sith to my growing "Sith that I've killed" list, lol.

The difficulty has definitely cranked up though once I hit Tatooine after Nar Shaddaa. Need to look at getting some better gear.

After watching a few videos and what you guys have to say, I'm actually excited to get into it... I played WoW for a while but never really was convinced to get into the genre(MMO's) but this has everything I want. RPG, STAR WARS!, fleshed out missions with voice acting, etc. incredible world design. I CAN'T WAIT, see you guys soon.

WHAT SERVERS DO YOU PLAY ON?
