    Counter-Strike: Source (CSS)

    Hey d00ds.

Right, before I'd installed Windows 7 and was running Windows XP, CSS ran fine and I never had any problems. After getting Windows 7 installed, I can rarely get into a game. I can run the CSS .exe fine, but when I go to join a server, the map loads and I freeze at the MOTD screen everytime. Has anyone else come across this problem or have any ideas of what I can do?

I've checked everywhere on the internet and a lot of people seem to be having the same problem, but their solutions didn't work for me

Try going to File > Settings > Ingame

    Then disable Steam Community In-Game

I find that solves many problems with games running through Steam

I'll give that a go if what I've just done doesn't work.

I defragged my game and it seems to be working fine now. I can pretty much guarantee on the next game I join it'll start again though...

    [EDIT]
Yup, happened again after trying to join. Disabling Steam Community didn't work either

windows 7 asks you for permission the first time you run it also....the permission screen is in background. i think if you hit windows screen it will show up....say ok....then restart game.

Nopee... I've given permission for it to run already. It's a really tough problem! I mean, sometimes the game will run without problems, then the next time I join or if the server goes to next map, I crash! I really don't understand what it could be.

Anyone else have suggestions? Could it be to do with the fact that I'm using the 32 bit version of Windows 7?
