Julian is one of the Admin team, aka Z3R010.

Tried the new tactic, Layback Bear; I still get "Executable has stopped working".

Thanks Maxie. If I understand you correctly, what you wanted me to try is: " ...to change the compatibility to win 7 or other version that will work with win 7 this will have to be done in the program x86 folder and if you right click the game then choose restore earlier version click on the compatibility tab from the drop down box select win 7 then at the bottom of the same box choose change settings for all users and make sure the compatibility tab corresponds with your operating system and this may work."

I've tried it, opening the games folder from "all programs" then right-clicking on the game, but when I click to "restore previous version" I do not get a compatibility tab. I've restored the previous version (from 2009) on one game, but it makes no difference - I still get "Executable has stopped working". AArgh!

What is an x86 folder, by the way, and how do I get to it?

X86 folder is your program files folder for 32-bit programs.
You only have a X86 folder if you have installed your computer with 64-bit Windows.

    Then you`ll have:
    C:\Program Files\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\

    With 32-bit you only have:
    C:\Program Files\

You can check it in the properties of you computer under system:
    System type: 64-bit Operating System

The OS is 64-bit, but when I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ the games folder is not there. When I go to C:\Program Files\ the folder is there, but when I open the folder then right-click on the game, then click to "restore previous version" I do not get a compatibility tab. I've restored the previous version (from 2009) on one game, but it makes no difference - I still get "Executable has stopped working". AArgh! still.....
