Sorry for my bad suggestion on daemon tools light. I have used it without probs but I suppose it could for other comps.
Do you need help getting the toolbars back out of your browser?

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
3. Double click the executable to open it
4. Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

I got it out of Firefox with the "Reset Firefox" feature (which actually sped it up a lot, may have been something else in it too) and uninstalled a program called "Search Protect" from Programs and features, as well as Daemon tools. Seems to be fine now. As for PowerISO, the 300MB limitation means that only about 6 or so of my CDs work with it. I tried doing one of those that works but I need to restart my PC for PowerISO's virtual drives to start working, not something I feel like doing right now. So, PowerISO won't work.

Are your "CDs" actually DVDs?

This is due to SecuROM (DRM) "disk verification". Basically all games since about 1999 have this and it is impossible, even with virtual drive emulation, to actually launch a game from ISO if it's source disk had SecuROM and without the original game disk being inserted into the drive for "verification" (and it remaining in the entire time for that matter)... that is, not without some modifications being applied. And I'll stop right there because of:

Despite the fact that the resolution to this is actually not piracy (theft) and is also per §117 of US Copyright Law perfectly legal (providing you do legally own the game), I cannot and will not be saying anything further on this subject for fear of being banned. For that reason also I will caution you and everybody else to promptly stop discussing this any further and because the OP's problems are directly due to SecuROM and evidently, discussing it any further to a legally sound resolution would be in breech of the above board terms.

Ok, then I guess I need to head off to another forums website. Still interesting though, why doesn't putting the physical disc in a virtual machine work?

Edit: Looks like Alcohol 52% is the only program with such a feature so I'll use it in a virtual machine, will mark as solved if it works.

Well quadrplax I personally do not believe you are pirating so i don't believe that this rule applies to you however anyone online who googled similar subjects with the intention to pirate would follow are instructions the same way.

I personally do not know any way around this so I can't provide any further assistance anyway but I am curios.

Do you moderators actually believe we are braking rules? I thought we were completely in our means to help in any way possible (as I don't think he was pirating).

So what i would like to know is, is it possible for the moderators to create a private thread the same way we have a private message. If moderators saw that he was legally able to copy has games for backup purposes but didn't want pirates googling our thread than could they declare it a private thread so that only people who are already helping can continue to help? I just feel if he (and us) are following the rules, we should be able to continue to be able to help with his problem. In the end moderators get the say and I will gladly follow there rules.

thanks

Does that corrupt files? With Daemon Tools I mean. I've been using it for years..

It doesn't corrupt files (to my knowledge anyway) but it does cause BSODs on a lot of systems due to it using SCSI Pass-Through Direct.

As a general rule, if someone is trying to work around (hack) the SecuROM (DRM) it is against the forum rules to give help to do such a thing to best of my knowledge.

We do honor copy wrights unless things have changed and I missed the change.
I'm not pointing fingers at anybody just my understanding of the forum rules. I'm sure we all want to follow the forum rules.

I believe rule #4 will explain better than I.
