    Battlefield 2142 and renddx9.dll


    Fist wonna say Hello, im new here. My englsih is not so good but i will try explain my problem. Im now using Windows 7, before i was using windows xp..
    Now i install Windows 7(x64) and after i was install battlefield 2142.. Before i was install bf 2142 i get a msg "this game is only testet on XP x32" when i was install dx9 i get msg.. "you need install dx9c or later....." ok... i install it.
    I start the game , get black screen wait few sec and :
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: BF2142.exe
    Application Version: 0.0.0.0
    Application Timestamp: 4833ed6d
    Fault Module Name: RendDX9.dll
    i now bf2142 suport only dx9, but.. i cant start the game, i was fid some solution on vistax64.com... plz im really need help

    Hi Kosmos, Welcome to SF.
    Ok I have seen this issue before. First thing you want to do in uninstall BF2142. reboot the machine. Put the DVD back into the drive "DO NOT" run the setup from the autorun goto my computer open the dvd drive and right click the setup.exe and run as admin in the menu, go threw the install and when it ask if you DX9 click yes let the setup complete. reboot the machine and install the latest patch 1.5 i think. then run the system defrag and test the game and see if this works for you.

    Hy DarkXeno.. i will now try ..righ now i install butt,,,but i automatically install my bf on other (D) disk hope that's not problem..and when it finished i defrag c: or d: drive
    btw. that i need have the win and game on one disk

    install to where you want the game to be stored c or d then run the defrag on both drives.

    Ok. i do all this. and when i go run "bf2142 play online" i get msg: " Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application" and my dvd disc is in dvddrive
    i dont thing that my dvd is damage because my brother on hes pc can start the game

    hmm.. i was tring reinstall and make this tutorial again.. and nothing...
    1.Remove- done
    2.Restart, and then insatall bf2142 and restart- done
    3.Install patch - done
    4.Defregmet - done
    5.Start game - crash

    hhmm, with it being picky on the dvd drive i would make sure you have the latest bios installed and all the updated drivers.

    I update all my drivers (video 9800gt, audio realtek, my router, lan....) but my bios i dont... but ok, i go update my bios(ist old one and half years)

    How can i uninstall all my DX on my pc.. i mean i woona reinstall dx9 and dx10??

    sry for spammin but... just wonn say i fix my problem.. i just go to \my documents\Battlefield 2142\Profiles\Default\ "and open <Video.con> and edit my MHZ ( i erase)... example VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@75Hz... ok you can lock this thread
