Far Cry 4 Lower Fps then i think i should get?

    System:
fx 8350 running at constant 4.2ghz - great cooling never goes over 40c underload
asus strix gtx 970 oc +150 Core, +200 Memory - never goes over 60c underload
    8 gig ram
    750 watt
    Seagate 2tb SSHD

So my system looks good to me but notice people getting better fps in games then i do.
For instance, I started playing Far Cry 4 at ultra and in the first town im getting around 30fps with dips down to 20-25 which is laggy while others with similar systems maybe a different cpu like an i5 getting 55-70fps in the first town.

Am i missing something thats causing this?

    Quick update

I stood in one spot in town and turned settings from lowest and ultra to see difference in fps.

    Lowest possible: 37 fps
    Highest possible: 32 fps

is my cpu bottlenecking? and should it for what it is?

Seeing as the game doesn't officially release until tomorrow, we can't help you much.

There is also supposed to be a couple of day one patches released tomorrow as well, so how about waiting until then and then see how the game runs.

According to what I read, some Games realease early on some Countries... this makes me wonder why UK and the US are one of those countries who are usually the last ones to get the games.

I have also read in the UBI forum that they are up to patch 1.3 now... I don't know whether that is a good sign or a very bad sign though, lets just say that it is a scary though.

Now, pertaining more to your question... also remember that this is a console port (as far as I know). Someone here said that UBI and Optimization are two words that don't go together

Stormy is right though... Once the game launches in the rest of the world, perhaps the fixes will come quicker

There are definite places where frame drops occur, but I'm running an FX-8350 with an R9 290 GPU and am averaging anywhere from 40 to 80 FPS. The problem likely isn't your processor so much as the microstutter that this game seems to struggle with from time to time. I'd expect another patch soon to fix that issue.

Nvidia Users should turn on Adaptive V-Sync from the NV CC. I finished FC3 @ 60FPS all the way... and i'm sure Adaptive v-sync definitely have some role to play with FC4 as well.

Yea, same engine and everything. aside from visual improvement should all be the same.

Fallout games had thier quirks too and certain setting or tweaks would fix or reduce it.

    Exactly

I bought FC4 steam key for a price I couldn't refuse from a guy who needed cash urgently so downloading it now and lets see how it'll perform on my rig and yeah on a native 1600x900 resolution which will definitely save some fps
