I have installed Team Fortress 2 and Combat Arms EU on to my Asus F7Se laptop with the Radeon HD 3400 series graphics card and when ever I run either game the screen resolution goes all screwy!!! It is like when you are watching a 4:3 TV programme on a 16:9 TV.
All of my settings are correct within Windows and the game. I have noticed that when I start a game there is a message that windows is changing the theme back to basic (or something like that).
Please can someone help out, I have been working on this for days!

But if you go inside your nVIDIA control panel and create the resolution it will stretch out and you wont have that annoying black bars.
Also when you do that make sure to set what refresh rate you want, or it will default it to 60Hz.
If you have a GeForce Nvidia Video Card, the above steps should fix your problem. Worked me.

Wish I had an answer for you, but I have never used an ATI video card. I have read so post that say there is a way to adjust resolution for ATI cards, but I myself have no clue. My best advice is go Nvidia... But I have always been a fan of Nvidia, over ATI, and AMD, over Intel.... You might want to make sure you have the lastest drivers from ATI, and also try reinstalling them, maybe that will do the help...
Good luck..

Sounds like you need to find a setting in the game called ratio i believe and set it to 16:10 then you can up the res to the correct setting.
Also make sure you have the latest 9.1 drivers.
