    Laptop freezing while playing games

    Hai

I had this problem for over a month now, so i really want this fixed.

Every 20 - 30 minutes minecraft starts freezing randomly. After 20 seconds it goes back normal and i can play.

I have been trying to fix this alot lately, by updating my drivers, Updating java, Adding more ram to minecraft, Cleaned up disk space, checked for virusses, used Ccleaner.

Except opening up my computer and cleaning the fan, because im not sure if that is the problem, but my CPU gets pretty high when playing minecraft or any game for that matter. So it could be that its my fan doing this. I'm not an expert in computers, so i wouldn't know how to safely clean my fan.

    My specs:

    Ram: 6GB

    Windows 7 ,64 bit

    Samsung RF710 series Laptop

    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60 GHz 1.60 GHz

I will be happy to give you more specs if needed :)

Have you had the laptop for awhile? If so, then it may have quite a bit of dust in it. Dust can get into the fins of heatsinks and accumulate on fans and wreak havoc on your temperatures. Install hwinfo, it's a free program, just google it and look at both your cpu core temps and your graphics card temperatures. If they are high(above 75-80) then you are going to need a professional to open your laptop and remove the dust. If you feel confident in your abilities, then you can do this yourself. However, be careful.

If your temperatures are fine, then it could be driver related. First thing to try would be to download a program called ddu(display driver uninstaller), which removes all traces of your graphics card driver. Be sure you download the latest driver for your graphics card before you run it. When you run it, it is going to ask you to restart in safe mode, do so and when your computer restarts it will pop up a window. Click the one that says to uninstall and restart. When your computer restarts once again, your resolution may be funny, but don't worry. Just install the drivers I had you download beforehand and everything will go back to normal. This may fix your problem if it isn't temperature related.

If heat is not the issue, and if its not a Driver Issue, there are still other options.

Minecraft is CPU intensive, So depending on what is being loaded in minecraft, You will experience problems on slower hardware. Which will greatly affect the performance of your game...

Allocated ram has an affect on minecraft allowing minecraft to use more will increase performance.

    Allocate more memory for minecraft

There is a way to squeeze a little extra out of the processor and optimize minecraft to work a little better with your processor.

Go here [1.8.1] OptiFine HD C2 (FPS Boost, HD Textures, AA, AF and much more) - Minecraft Mods - Mapping and Modding - Minecraft Forum - Minecraft Forum

I used this Mod and I went from 30-60fps, to 450+FPS. with a Single core.
