    Games feature will not activate

After doing a custom install from Vista Ultimate to Win 7 pro, I discovered that the Windows games feature is turned off. When I attempt to turn the feature on (1 game or all games), the process runs and just before a restart is requested, a message pops up that activating this feature has encountered an error.

The event log shows for example:
    Description:
Update Minesweeper of package InboxGames-Package failed to be turned on. Status: 0x8007371b.
    Event Xml:

I read somewhere that the games feature was not included in 7 like it is in the Ultimate Extras of vista:
" Unlike Windows Vista Ultimate, the Windows 7 Ultimate edition does not include the Windows Ultimate Extras feature or any exclusive features.[18]"

this from Windows 7 editions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The problem (it was an installation problem) was solved by doing an over-install (upgrade in place). As per Ms, there wwas corruption in the winsxs folder.

The Ultimate games are not available but will be a free download shortly. However Win 7 Pro does come with in-house games. I had to turn that feature on via the CP.
