I just came in to say that I believe the name Daniel is awesome... for obvious reasons of course!

I will let the others answer your question as I have always been happy with 30 to 40 FPS when playing shooters. It will be beyond my capacity to logically pretend to understand why you would need 300 FPSs.

30-40 FPS aint right for a game that uses an old engine (Source Engine). But if you want more frames then lower anything, configs wouldn't help you because the game uses same technology as Left 4 Dead 2.

300 fps? You won't be able to tell any difference between 60fps and 300fps unless your monitor is over 60Hz.

Enable console in options if you haven't already.

In console type "fps_max 0" without quotes, this will take off the fps cap.

To all the naysayers, those frames could mean life or death.

Keep striving for that higher fps my friend, sorry i can't offer much advice, I would maybe say update your drivers and like Oakseed said, take off the fps cap.

Now I got a question, if you have a 240Hz Monitor or TV, does it mean that you could take advantage of 240 + FPSs?

And if so... can your eyes also make the most of 300 FPSs?

Inquiring minds want to Know!

I wonder what would be the input rate on the hdmi port on TV, 240 is possibly the display refresh rate to smooth normally smaller hertz source. Is it not?

What is the Refresh Rate? (also has a fake refresh rates tab)
