Direct X not wanting to let me play my games

Hey there everyone, I've been having a problem since yesterday. Yesterday whilst I was playing Fallout New Vegas, my game randomly crashed. I didn't think much of it, as it is a Bethesda game afterall, but however when I went to play it again, it gave me an error message of "Failed to initialize renderer. Unknown error creating the gamebyro renderer."

I googled this, and the results all pointed towards something being wrong with my DirectX. I tested another game that uses DirectX which was World of Warcraft, the game window flashes for a few seconds before informing me that "World of Warcraft was unable to start up 3D acceleration." I pretty much said "screw it" at this point, and did a system restore. It worked!...But however, this problem has started again. I've updated my drivers, and took a peek at dxdiag, but didn't see anything wrong there.

Like GroundhogDay, am I doomed to have to just keep system restoring every day, or is there a way I can find what this problem is caused by, and fix it? Thank you.
