Windows 7: Steam Launching Game Issues

09 Nov 2009   #11

Windows 7 Home Premium x64

For clarification:

I too encountered this same problem with Steam. The problem went away when I performed a clean install of the OS, and it sounds like that's the same thing the OP did.

WIndows 7 x64

HI,I've got the same problem "when I installed, everything went well, the game installs went well as well, however, when I go to launch the game, it tells me its going to load, then never loads, and appears as if I never tried to launch it in the first place."I have fresh copy of Windows 7 x64 ultimate and first everything was OK, but I,ve got some crash and had to change my DDR2 memory.I have reinstaled steam on new location, download new copy of games (L4D2, L4D, Team Fortness etc)and this problem still existI have connection with steam cloud/ community. So it is not a problem with my firewall, but when I run steam dignostic it shows: problem with taskhost.exe " test faile. but.....when I try to go to offline mode of steam and try to run some game, this issue is the sameCould you help me somehow ?Cheers,
