Having a lot of bother with the game crashing due to iw4mp.exe has stopped working, I cant even play a full game without it happening.
    Any tips?

First post here by the way, so hello everyone.
    Hi staralfur,

Welcome. Modern Warfare had the same issue... it was related to your sound. This may help: iw4sp.exe or iw4mp.exe Errors (Modern Warfare 2) - Call of Duty 4 Forums

There was a thread over at the Vista forums that went into greater detail... I'll try and find it.

    Here ya go: http://www.vistax64.com/gaming/171179-cod4.html

Between the two you should be able to sort this out relatively quickly.

    Hi vonvamp,

First head back to your User CP and fill in your specs... the more detailed the better. Then detail what you've already done so we all have a good understanding of what we're dealing with.

Clearly we're not dealing with a hardware issue. :)

Have you tried setting steam to run as admin, and then set MW2 to also run as admin?

Are you trying to play Single player or Multi player? If it is the MP then it sounds like a prob I was having as well. I fixed it by deleting a file called "mp_playlists.ff"

"\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\zone\english"
