I'm curious to the amount of active clans that are playing this. We are but I just don't see alot like I did when COD 4 came out. Mostly brat kids, lone wolves, and hackers.
there are hundreds of active clans playing , just with IW nets "matchmaking" service it looks like there aint that many , we play usually in packs of four (try any more and IW net dumps you out connecting every other map) and we quite often end up playing other clans , they tend to be the best matches.

brat kids?? you mean their just better than you? Lone wolves , nothing wrong with them , at least they dont start crying cheat everytime you beat the sh!t outta them like 50% of the clans we come across do and why oh why do people constantly whine about "noob tubers" as if if its gonna stop em!!?? i attach a nade launcher just to wind people up sometimes ha ha

and most of the "cheats" are just very very good players , sure there are cheats but steam is catching up , the only problem is if you have a genuine cheat ingame your stuck with him , just have to move on to another game , no point in pointing out the fact that their cheating using ingame text chat , they know their cheating , they know theres nothing you can do about it and they really dont care !

its not perfect but its bloody good fun
Like the guys hunched over running out of his mind with the package or nade exploit or the daily update of wall hacks. The brat kid thing refers to the obnoxious language that comes during intermission where I constantly have to mute kids for being retarded. There are a lot of people better than me and I am better than a lot of people. I haven't criticized your gameplay so I think it's funny that you criticize mine without ever playing with me. I do not rant on chat about hackers. I just report them if it is legitimate. The game is good but it would be so much better with dedicated servers. By the way I invite you to play with me anytime. wda_xodus is my steam name. Not alot of clans play with us. They tend to drop out as soon as they see a group of WDA playing. When they do though it provides good gameplay provided the pings are decent and they don't use exploits/hacks which is rare. Want to set up a scrim. Visit our website. www.walkingdeadarmy.com. We will play anyone. We may win or lose but we will always play a fair match and we don't belittle others when we win. I think that's just poor gamesmanship. Cheers.

A distinction needs to be made between, "active clans playing" and "clans actively competing": Infinty Ward pretty much killed the latter when they decided to not offer dedicated servers.

Sure, there are guys who love the game who seek out "matches" (if you can call them that?) with other clans via IWnet's matchmaking service; however, that pales in comparison to what you normally see in the various leagues when it comes to the hottest/latest game in town. Competition is just dead.

Most clans are just bigger than what the game can accommodate... which is unfortunate, but being forced to play on home networks instead of enterprise class servers is just a deal-breaker for a lot of clans.

We definately have that problem. We usually run two squads during the week as we hate playing groundwar. It just seems to be a big cluster****. TWL was trying to start some ladders and leagues but I don't know how that is going. I won't enter any intil there is a way to introduce mods so the PAM mod can be incorporated. On a lighter note, I preordered Bad Company 2. Hopefully we won't receive a press release 2 weeks before the release date saying dedicated server support won't be an option.

I bought CODMW2 last night, it's junk so far. The graphics are so screwed up that I can't even read the title screens. I managed to push enough buttons to play the training mission to unlock the game.

Gee I pay $60 for a game and have to do something to unlock it. You figure $60 is enough to not unlock the game...lol

Oh and no Steam, no single player. You have to install Steam to install the game.

Right now I'm looking for a fix for the graphics problem. As I've seen on their message board I'm not the only one with this issue.
ah, yet ANOTHER post that proves my point about PC based games being a PITA. :)

lol, yeah... I learned my hard lesson about that with Operation Flashpoint, another P2P steamy pile of dookie. Like MW2, a hard fail, both in terms of the game and competition. When BF:BC2 and Battlefield 3 arrive MW2 will die.

You get that MW2 is a console port... right?

You guys "get" that PC gaming is a PITA, no matter how you slice it?

What I get is that perhaps for you pc gaming is a chore; if one guy has an installation issue, in your opinion, that's evidence pc's are "not the right tool for the job". I find that argument absurd; however, reading your posts, I see you've narrowly defined pc gaming as the installation, setup and loading of the game... not the actual gaming experience itself, which is odd for a guy who's claiming consoles are "light years" ahead of pc's.

As far as the actual gaming part goes, you've been noticeably muted; which is reasonable considering that pc's blow away consoles in every respect: superior hardware, superior networks, superior options.

Yes, it may be "easier" to setup, for some people who find loading software difficult, but that's where any comparison ends. Once a game is loaded, there's just no way a cheap, limited, antiquated little console can keep up with a pc.

I mean you get what you pay for... right? Not even console maker's are claiming their products to be superior to pc's... just "easier".

Correct, PC's are for games, not pansy consoles.

I'd hardly call the Cell-processor equipped PS3, a "pansy" device. That's quite lame, on your part.

When I get a new game for my PS3, I don't have to give one thought to how much hassle it might be to get the new game working well--the games ALWAYS work on the PS3. Unless tremendous strides have been made in the past year in PC gaming, it's just way too much of a PITA for me to consider wasting my time with. Besides, like I said before, I prefer the controller to keyboard. Sure it took some time to transition to it, but that was a matter of just a few days. Out of all the years I'll spend on the PS3 (I've had it for about 26 months now), a few days learning curve is no biggie.
