Music media keys on sidewinder keyboard not working within games

As it says in the title, when I'm in a fullscreen or fullscreen-windowed game, the music controls on my Sidewinder X4 keyboard fail to work. The game I've been testing it with is Heroes of the Storm, and the music player MediaMonkey.

I ask within the Windows 7 forum, because I wondered if maybe there's some .dll I can download, or setting within W7, that I can change to fix this.

One thing I have found, is that if I force-close the microsoft keyboard drivers (by stopping the iType.exe process) then the media keys start working again, however then I lose access to all my custom keys and macros. I've tried installing the new "Keyboard and Mouse Centre", and some of the old Intellitype drivers, but they all have this problem.

It's incredibly frustrating that I'm forced to choose between either working macros, or working media keys. Is there any fix for this?

Hmm, possibly losing default profile settings when you switch to a game profile.

Is it possible to re-assign media keys to their original settings with your keyboard software?
