    GLQuake not running anymore

One week ago, I could play GLQuake, but when windows updates automatically downloaded and installed service pack 1 on my computer for me, I can't play this game anymore!
First of all, I had the "glide2x.dll is missing from your computer" error. Then I used a software that fixed me the glide2x.dll from "C:\\Windows\\System32", and the error doesn't show anymore, but now I have the following three errors instead:

    1. Genport I/O initialization failure
    2. grSstSelect: non-existent SST
    3. wglCreateContect failed

I can't fix these three errors, no matter what I do. I watched videos in youtube, googling in the internet about fixing opengl in my computer, but none helps. Please I need your help!

You can try GLDirect DirectX wrapper for OpenGL. Simply copy the opengl32.dll to where the game exe is.

Hey that fixed my glquake problem! Thank you, I don't have to use software mode anymore!

I just couldn't play quack in glide, i tried nglide and zeckensacks glide wrapper and it still wouldn't run.

Nglide "ran" but i couldn't change the resolution, the brightness, or switch it to 32 bit color depth.

Glad it worked :) I used gldirect to play Jedi Knight 2 - Jedi Outcast (OpenGL game) in 3D Vision (required DirectX9.0 and up). It should work with OpenGL 1 and 2, not compatible with 3 though. So, no Doom 3 3D

Have you tried the palettestealerSuspender? I have never had any of those errors but I have seen it helps with older games. This helps by freezing a selected process during a specified programs activity, and then resuming any frozen process after quiting a specified program. Really helps with old FMV, as well as Diablo 1/2 and the 2D Fallout games. This allows me to run quack in software mode aswell. I freeze the explorer.exe process.

I'm not sure it was meant for me, but I'm glad I could help!

I use 'palettestealerSuspender' to help 16 bit color based games run, like fallout and diablo. Most vintage games that had 3dfx or software rendering options from pre-2000 (unreal engine 1 and 2, id1 and 2, anything isometric) benefit from that program in software rendering. I find it to be a must when playing games from GOG because I don't have a 3dfx based machine, and glide wrappers kinda suck on my machine.

I haven't played doom 3, but 'would you kindly' tell me if my machine would play doom bfg edition?

I can run bioshock 1 and 2 maxed at 1280x720 with vsync off. I really don't know how relevant that is, because biosmack is on the unreal engine...
