installed fsx but screen goes black when i try to play

Hi. I installed microsoft flight simulator x on my win 7 (64 bit) machine. Installation & activation went fine and i even get all the options (ie, new mission, controls, etc) but when i click to start a game the screen just goes blank and i get a 'no signal' message. Even stranger is if i switch to another channel and back again i get a few seconds of sound but still no vision.

    Specs:

    i5 @3.4ghz
2*gtx 760 (tried with sli both enabled & disabled)
    16Gb ram
    resoloution 1080 *1920 @ 60 Hz

Anyone else had a similar issue? I really wanna get started with this. All input much appreiciated :)

Yeah all drivers are up to date. I even installed sp! & sp2 for fsx but no change. Is it possible that it doesn't run on w7 (64 bit) ?

I'm running W7x64 SP1 and FSX Gold runs just fine on my rig. I also have the FScene add on from JustFlight that runs fine.

As far as I know FSX can't make use of SLI or CrossFire.

If you are using DirectX 9 perhaps try to update it, and also install both 32 and 64 bit versions of Visual C++ Redistributables (2005/2008/2010/2012/2013).

You can also try a clean startup - Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

Here's something to try from the FSX forums on Steam here:

Had same issue : no aircraft preview, at flight launch : buggy aircraft preview, and when in flight black screen. What i did : Settings => Display Setting => Customize => Graphic Tab => Check "Preview DirectX 10". Fixed
Maybe try that and see if it works?
