Graphical glitch with certain applications e.g. Greenfoot, minecraft

I've come across an annoying issue in which graphical glitches occur upon opening both Greenfoot and minecraft specifically. I have no issues with other software e.g. chrome, steam. The problem can be fixed in minecraft by simply full screening the window, however Greenfoot is a whole other story. It, very strangely, can be temporarily fixed by full screening the window, but the graphical glitches ensue soon after. Below are some attached images of what the problem looks like. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S - I can add more images if it would help to solve the problem.
