    Crysis

I've had crysis for awhile, since before windows 7. Today I decided I wanted to play it so I installed it and updated it to 1.2.1. Every so often while I play the game just crashes, also crashes when I try to change graphical settings. In the event viewer it says

Faulting application name: crysis64.exe, version: 1.1.1.6156, time stamp: 0x47d6d9cf
Faulting module name: MSVCR80.dll, version: 8.0.50727.4927, time stamp: 0x4a27427d

I'm not sure what this all means. I never had problems with it on XP.

Mate have you tried not to update crysis? and just leave as is? might be the fact that the update has issues with window 7.

Or Try the update before 1.2.1

It started from a fresh Crysis install, that's when I updated it, I didn't try playing on any of the in between updates, only CD version and 1.2.1. Maybe I'll try a new install and test all the updates.

Problem is I was playing on a fresh install until it started crashing during game play, only reason I tried updating. I'll try to play with patch 1.1 or 1.2 instead of fresh install or 1.2.1.

irbeel - looking at the patches on megagames.com I would go for the 1.2 patch. 1.2.1 is for server issues.

Try that it may help ya,

After a fresh install and updating to 1.2 only, no 1.2.1 game seems to run fine so far... No crashing after hitting Apply in the graphics options.

Update: After about 10 minutes into game play Crysis crashed again.

    Event Viewer Says this:
Faulting application name: crysis64.exe, version: 1.1.1.6115, time stamp: 0x47c58f4f
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdfe0
    Exception code: 0x0000087a
    Fault offset: 0x000000000000aa7d
    Faulting process id: 0x9cc
    Faulting application start time: 0x01ca67e48dfbe218
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin64\crysis64.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll
    Report Id: 14016312-d3d9-11de-ba4b-001fd0d161a4

Isn't the same error I got before.

Update all your drivers, and use driver sweeper in safe mode when you uninstall them.
