Hi,

Since then I have reinstalled and haven't reinstalled the game yet
I was actually thinking of see if I can play the game on steam but for the life of me I can not figure out how to add the game to steam without buying it again it's a retail with a disk

Vista is already around when COD 4 was released that is why you rarely get problems about admin privileges with it. MW runs smooth as silk even on Windows 7.

Thanks for all your replies. Since then I have tried COD2, FC1, Quake4 and OF (can't remember which one). Only OF works. Will the fix this weekend.

Tried that sc secdrv elevated command prompt thing... Didn't work Specifically COD2 gave the same error, COD1 didn't start at all...

Why on Earth would MS do this? I don't even know howthis update slipped thru as I don't ever do updates. Did it come through MSE?

Have a good mind to do a clean install of the OS...
