Windows 7: What Games Are You Playing?

Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Playing Bard's Tale again, after about 2-3 years.
After Postal 2, I think it's the funniest game of them all (that I have played)

BTW someone should perhaps pin the topic.

Hey Gornot--- I like those types of games, too.

I finally (finally!) got ahold of The Dark Eye (1995.) It's the same era, obviously, as other games like Myst and what not.

Emulators aside, running on Windows 7 with an x64 platform, is there some kind of thing (asking all around here) that can get these games to function?

I'm aware of the "Run in compatibility mode/" "Windows XP SP2," etc... but that hasn't worked well for me in the past.

Usually, when I have the games (in this case, as .ISO images,) I use PowerISO (as it's small and easy to manage,) and mount them. I don't automount or anything of the sort. However, compatibility is a pain.

Suggestions? ...seems that a lot of users in here like the older stuff, or the classics, as much as folks like the new stuff.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

Hilarious and totally in-universe review:
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale - review for PC: Capitalism, ho!

Quote:
Everything in life is amazing in the eyes of a child, their very first toy, their very first piece of candy, and for Recette Lemongrass, their very first soul crushing debt to pay off in five weekly installments of ever increasing financial terror! With our little lady's father having taken off to play hero due to stupidity related issues and slightly forgetting that money is indeed an object, it's up to our young heroine and her floating ball of gree-- err, I mean financial fairy friend Tear to set the books straight and pay back that ungodly sum of money or it's off to play Recette's Magical Cardboard Box Adventure! So in the town of Pensee where everyone and their wife stockpiles various sharp pointy objects of questionable moral utility, what would be the best way to make money? Why by selling aforementioned instruments of destruction of course, along with food, books, the still beating heart from a giant killer Eyebat and pretty much anything else not nailed to the floor - and that's what “Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale” is all about!

Awesome indie game, one of my best purchases ever.

Playing an online FPS, "Combat Arms," it's pretty good for a free game. Fun shooting people... in a game of course...
