I've been playing The Saboteur (another GTA clone). Very underrated game IMO.
Edit: Also playing BFBC2 Vietnam with one complaint - the maps are just too small.

..am loving the new maps for the original BC2 game - they're much bigger..
- have to say, I am seriously impressed by The Witcher..
- Geralt's is a realistic characterisation, the game's dialogue is rich and full of swearing and cursing..!!
- definitely the best 18+ game of this type, I've played..
- I see it already has an 18+ PEGI rating, so I am hoping that Witcher2 matches up to this racy approach to adventuring..
- a brilliant game..!!

played need for speed: hot pursuit for a few hours, and i'm not very impressed.
let me say that i'm not a racing gamer - all i've played recently is dirt2, so that's all i can compare this game to.
unfortunately, for me at least, n4s doesn't come close at all to the fun levels of dirt2.
graphics are poor, even with 'high resolution textures', and badly aliased too! i can force aa with the latest amd drivers, but it doesn't seem to work very well and sometimes i get weird white trees.
you can't change the view in any way, you're always stuck in third-person world, where the camera is a few feet behind and above the car. i much prefer first-person view, where the camera is more or less where the driver sits - it feels much more immediate, and you feel as if you're in the car, rather than steering an virtual object remotely, plus it improves the graphics as the focus of your attention isn't so far in front, where there aren't so many pixels, if you know what i mean. the camera is closer to the action.
sound is weak, even though i'm using 'high quality filters'. poor selection of tunes too, compared to dirt 2. but what do i know about music, i'm in my forties!
all in all, to wrap up, gameplay, atmosphere and fun-factor are all sadly lacking from this console port.
well, that's what i think, anyway.
What I saw of the last NFS games is that I don't enjoy them much as I did with the older ones (i.e. the first "Underground" and the very first "Hot Pursuit" of 1998) though I played quite the whole series.
The only "recent" (post 2005) NFS game I liked is "Most Wanted", but still my favourite is "Hot pursuit" from 1998.
Being in my 20s, probably, I don't enjoy gaming that much anymore apart from (like said earlier) the same two or three titles that I still play.
For the camera problem i can help sir.
Here was the original thread over the discussion for the NFS:HP 2010 PC Camera Hack [PC] Camera hack - Need for Speed Hot Pursuit General Discussion - Need for Speed: EA Forums and the link for the actual download is within the first post :)
I have it running on my copy of HP and it works perfectly even though someone somewhere said it may only work on the US copy of this game. It's fine on the UK version also.
So i hope this helps you out. Happy tweaking

thanks for that taylorig, it works well with the uk steam version.
it's much better, but still not perfect, as the exact camera position seems to change depending on your speed. so, i've got it all set up just as i like it while the car is still, but as soon as i move, it changes.
oh well, thanks anyway.
now they need to sort out the anti-aliasing...
