i believe this is known as 'content tourism', and is what drives a lot of people to finish off mediocre games - that and the fact that they've paid good money for them in the first place!
and going back a few posts to hl2 ep3 (again!) - the whole idea of the episodes was that they could release them quickly, as opposed to full blown games.

i dont remember paying for it?yes maybe they are right, i should play multiplayer with it too...
Metro 2033 was really .... mediocore IMHO.
I mean, it was beautiful graphically,no argument there.
But gameplay was very linear and just so-so to me.
I may play it again when I get my new GPU just to see how it looks cranked up but ... not sure Ill finish.
Then again, maybe its just me. I had a hard time getting interested in it.
Theres 2 endings I know for METRO, an evil and a good one. Think mine was the evil one.
might have to try for a good one just to see what happens.
I find myself playing a lot of Battlefield Bad Company 2 online. I also just for fun installed a rather old copy of Unreal Tournament (ut99) just for a time waster and laughs on how much I use to play that game.
Ah yeah the original UT, what a great game. I think I recall grabbing the GOTY for that. Anyway that game is what inspired my first 'real' PC Gamer rig, waaay back. I remember struggling to play it online on 56k and with like 10fps!
I got my new build with a Pentium 3 OC'd to 1ghz, and my first 'real' 3d accellerator and started owning!
I used to play UTFaces and sit up above the foyuer firing down at would be flag stealers! I recall that graphics engine being absolutely mind blowing at the time. I miss game developers from that era, or rather the development process.
Reading all replies here makes me feel ashamed
I dont get much time to play games but whenever i do i play call of duty 1 and medal of honor-pacific assault. Also i have NFS carbon and flight simulator x.
Seems i am generations behind new games lol
