Neverwinter Nights Diamond in RC7100 I am using the Windows 7 RC 7100 and am trying to get Neverwinter Nights Diamond to work on it. It's an older game and the requirements for this game aren't too demanding. My specs are 128mb ATI X200M card, Pentium M 1.86, and 1.5gb of RAM.
I've installed the game and when I attempt to run it I get a pop-up saying there is a problem with compatibility. It also asks if I wish for it to access the internet and look for a solution. I tried but the report is there is none.
I'm hoping to get this working! If anyone can be of any assistance I'd appreciate it!
EDIT:
I forgot to mention this is installed on my other Thinkpad. Not the one in the My System Specs.

Have you tried to run it in a compatibility mode? Right click the game's icon, choose Properties from the context menu. Click Compatibility tab, check the box Run this program in compatibility mode and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3) from the drop down menu.
Hope this works.

Yes I tried running it in Vista SP 1, 2 and then Windows XP SP 3 and 2. I got frustrated and have not tried it again. The thing is that the game is there but the compatibility problem keeps popping up everytime I try and run it. I do get the menu with Play, Update, and the other choices but upon clicking on Play I get the Compatibility report.
I'll try posting this in the Bioware forums also. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Lenovo Thinkpad T500 OS W7 Professional X64 CPU 2.53 ghz Penryn Core2Duo 1066mhz FSB/6mb L2 Cache Memory 4gb Graphics Card Intel X4500HD/ATI HD3650 Sound Card Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller Monitor(s) Displays 23" Samsung Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard T61 Chicony KB on my T500 :) Hard Drives 320 gb Western Digital |

You could try to install Virtual XP Mode and try to install your game to a virtual machine. Free download and info here.

Just wanted to mention that I got the game running.
I have the Diamond edition and it needed the 1.69 patch before it would run. I had downloaded a patch- Neverwinter Nights when it should have been Neverwinter Nights Hordes of the Underdark Patch!
After installing this I clicked on the patch exe and it installed the update. Restarted the laptop and it plays now
Just thought I'd mention this for any one stuck with the same problem I had. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Lenovo Thinkpad T500 OS W7 Professional X64 CPU 2.53 ghz Penryn Core2Duo 1066mhz FSB/6mb L2 Cache Memory 4gb Graphics Card Intel X4500HD/ATI HD3650 Sound Card Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller Monitor(s) Displays 23" Samsung Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard T61 Chicony KB on my T500 :) Hard Drives 320 gb Western Digital |

Hey! I have gone over every forum on Neverwinter Nights, and still it does not work for me.
I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I have installed Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition, patched it to 1.69 using the official patch from BioWare and have tried running in compatibility with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and 3. I have also tried running as administrator.
Any suggestions. Where have I gone wrong. The screen with Play, Update, etc appears but then I get nothing when I enter into Play. The black Neverwinter Nights logo goes on, and then it just closes and nothing else happens....

thank you Hi. Sorry I haven't been around. Busy with school and winter weather here!
This may or may not help you but this is the route I went to get the game to work. I was and am still using W7100 RC. Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition with W7.
