    quackpot, you may have to manually install the punkbuster services, by downloading pbsvc, available here.

    run it as admin, then make sure you have the latest updates by running pbsetup, then also update bf2 with the new patch.

    If your having trouble with PB on either 32 bit or 64 bit Windows, use PunkBuster Online Countermeasures (software download link)to manually update your games. Furthermore, run your PB related games in compatibility mode with admin rights on Vista SP2 or Windows XP Sp3 if that Vista does not work.
    -make sure your game is up to date patch wise
    -make sure PB software does install the PB updates
    -if you still are having trouble locate your game directory and delete all PB folders and red-update PB via PB software.
    -Be sure to make sure the PB ingame option is selected.
