How about some older titles like Simcity 4000?

Or proper simulation games like FSX, Rail Sim etc?

NFS Shift and GRID are okay if you like arcade style racing.

If you are put off using mouse and keyboard for FPS games, you could always use a 360 controller for some of them. Crysis and Crysis Warhead actually feel quite Halo-esque when played with a controller.
I could never get into SC4000, SC3000 on the other hand, well, I've wallowed hours away playing that title
How do you get a 360 pad working on the PC then?
Just need to grab the drivers from microsoft, install em, and plug in your controller, if its wireless, youll need to buy a dongle for it tho.
^^This. Although now you simply plug the controller in and it installs the driver for you.

The controller works best on games that support them. (it can be forced on games that have controller support, but it's not worth the effort.)

Since a lot of PC games are console ports, it's just like playing a console.

And yeah, I wasted many hours on Simcity, 2000 and 3000 - build a city, raze a city, build it up again :)

I didn't know they had any SimCity games that were compatible with Vista/7 (yes, I realize there's compatability mode in 7). Thanks guys, for the suggestions! I will look into them as they sound right up my ally!

The Witcher PC uncut - 18+ RPG (can't see why they rated it that though).
